![]() Breakfast Reverie. Spring of 1990 Watercolor. 13" x 18" This is what I call my first official watercolor. I had done school projects and messed with watercolor before, but this was my first attempt at a fine art piece. I was in 8th grade. My art teacher, Ms. Beatty, noticed my advanced art ability, and let me paint by myself in the back room. I no longer had to follow the same assignments as the rest of the class. She let me paint there alone. And what is so amazing about this piece, is it's all done on poster paper. Needless to say, Ms. Beatty soon got me real watercolor paper for my next piece. It was also painted with those cheep school paints that usually only have the basic colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown and black. This started my whole love affair with watercolors and it's never wavered since. |
